This East Passyunk block has been decorating collectively since 1998 and is widely regarded as South Philadelphia's signature Christmas street. Residents collect donations for local charities while visitors stroll past homes decked out in everything from classic twinkle lights to elaborate themed scenes.
Best time to arrive. Sunset in Philadelphia is around 4:36 PM in mid-December, fully dark by about 5:07 PM. A typical December night here bottoms out near 32°F, so dress for standing around outside.
