McAdenville has earned the name Christmas Town USA since 1956, lighting hundreds of trees from 6-footers to a 90-foot giant along a two-mile route, with lit trees floating on the town lake. The free display draws roughly 600,000 visitors a season, so weekend lines can be very long.
Best time to arrive. Sunset in McAdenville is around 5:13 PM in mid-December, fully dark by about 5:42 PM. A typical December night here bottoms out near 32°F, so dress for standing around outside.
